In our modern society, healthcare and development are closely linked, and effective community participation in development activities plays a key role in achieving desired objectives. Poor people in India spend about 60% of their annual income and a majority resort to borrowing or selling assets to cover these expenses that force them down the poverty ladder. India’s 134th rank in the Human Development Index speaks volumes of the distance we need to cover. About 1.5 million Indian children under the age of 5 died due to diarrhea in 2009. About 1 million Indians die yearly due to preventable diseases. Hence, it is high time the voluntary organizations in the country take up adequate measures to ensure health care services are provided to all. “Health for All” should be the motto of health care organizations. With this inspiration in mind, VOICE Trust was registered as a Trust under Indian Trust Act in 1997.

The Trust started serving rural masses around Madurai district and our convergent activities with strategic partners in the field enabled us to undertake free medical camps throughout the year to serve rural people in remote areas. After a decade of dedicated service in the field and as a member of the progressive healthcare organizations, VOICE Trust has been delivering comprehensive health services to rural masses inspired by our Core Values: RESPECT. VOICE Trust is committed to improving the lives of deprived rural people in need of constant healthcare.
